Connect
ftrack Connect is a desktop application designed to integrate the ftrack Studio with various creative applications, named DCCs throughout this documentation. It enables easy publishing of assets, customization through scripts and plugins, and streamlines creative workflows.
Out of the box, Connect provides a set of vital features, such as:
- Application launcher: Launch applications from ftrack Studio or in general through the ftrack Event system.
- Plugin manager: Manage and install plugins for Connect - DCC integrations and other features.
Besides DCC integrations, it also provides these additional features as plugins available for download from the Plugin manager:
- Asset publishing: Publish assets from DCCs to ftrack Studio.
- Time tracking: Track time spent on a task.
In the Guides section, you can find information on how to customize and extend Connect by writing your own plugins, widgets. Connect is also the starting point for extending Framework based integration, through customisation of the DCC launch configs.
